The mission of the North Washington Street Water and Sanitation District is to provide and maintain water and sewer line services for residents and businesses by providing water from Denver Water and sewer services from Metro Wastewater Reclamation District.

The Denver Water treats its drinking water with chlorine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and EPA find there is no evidence that COVID – 19 is spread through drinking water and the COVID-19 has not been detected in drinking water supplies. EFFECTIVE January 25, 2021, North Washington Street Water and Sanitation District will resume water disconnection for all delinquent accounts. No Extensions or further payment arrangements will be granted. Please refer to the back of your billing statement for more information. Thank you.
Announcing the new ACH Auto-Withdrawal program at North Washington Street Water and Sanitation District.
Effective immediately, you can now have your monthly water and sewer payment withdrawn from your checking or savings account. Of course, one-time only payers, can still use either credit cards or e-checks and Pay by Phone 1-855-939-2113.
IMPORTANT BILLING CHANGE INFORMATION
March 9, 2020
Please be advised that effective June 1, 2020, North Washington Street Water and Sanitation District will be making changes to the existing billing system.
In the past, the District has allowed three (3) types of extensions for Past Due Accounts; 1 day, 3 day and a 10-day extension. Effective June 1, 2020, Extensions will no longer be granted. Currently, the District sends a “Courtesy” or “Delinquent” notice to all past due accounts reminding customers that payment must be made to avoid disconnection of service. Effective June 1, 2020, the Courtesy / Delinquent notices will no longer be mailed out to customers. Your regular billing statement indicates if your account is past due and needs immediate attention. It will be important that you read your billing statement carefully.
Effective June 1, 2020 all billing statements will be due 30 days from the billing date. If payment has not been received 30 days after the billing date, an automatic 15-day grace period will be granted. You will not need to call the District office to request this additional time. On the next business day, if payment has not been received by 9:00 a.m., water service will be terminated and a $75.00 fee will be assessed to your account, each time water has been disconnected.
All Nonsufficient Fund Checks, Stopped Checks or any Bank Returned Checks, regardless of the reason will result in a $35.00 Return Process Fee and may be subject to immediate termination of service.
If you are not already using our Automated ACH payment program, we encourage you to sign up now! If you need help, call us! We will be happy to help you through the process. All you need is a checking or savings account. We will still mail you a paper invoice each month so you will know how much to deduct from your account. Please visit our website at nwswsd.colorado.gov

Who We Are
The North Washington Street Water and Sanitation District is a special district overseen by a board of 5 Directors. The Directors are volunteers who are elected under the statutes of the State of Colorado, with staggered terms of two to four years.
"After Hour Turn-On's" are available before 7:00 p.m. by calling (720) 218 - 0827. Please have your payment (Cash, Check, or Money Order) ready at that time. Credit Cards are not accepted by the Field Staff, however, you may pay your bill online and present your receipt to the Field Staff when they arrive at your door. Please refer to the Payments page to access our online bill pay system.
